Flewitt Gardens: Fairholm Court

Fairholm Court is the former elderly sheltered flats complex at the bottom of Flewitt Gardens, the main building being the community centre, and housed the Wardens home in the upper level facing out over Stonebridge farm. The centre was demolished in 2009 and work is still in progress crushing stones and removing debris. The back of Fairholm court was boarded by Pym Walk footpath, and Rocket Park. In 2004 – 2005 there was a problem with stolen cars being burnt out next to these back railings, and youths throwing stones and smashing windows. Antisocial behaviour stopped entirely from 2007 onwards.

Also at the bottom of Flewitt Gardens was a set of double garages, these remained boarded up for a number of years and were demolished at the same time as Fairholm Court in 2009.

Fairholm Court is shown at the bottom of this 2008 photograph, and the row of four private houses, also on Flewitt Gardens, above. Demolition has now taken place.
