St Ann’s Christmas event attended by record crowd

Festive cheer broke out in St Ann’s this evening as Olympic champion Sharon Gibson helped local councillors Jon Collins, Dave Liversidge & Sue Johnson switch on the Christmas tree lights outside the Police Station.

Over two hundred adults & local children turned up in the chilled air and donned Santa hats to sing carols around the festive Christmas tree.

Local Labour councillor David Liversidge was really pleased with the turn out,  “Times are hard at the moment”, he said, “so its right that Nottingham City Council should spend a bit of money so the whole community can get together and have some fun.”

DSCN2764Afterwards there was also an amazing firework display at the rear of the Robin Hood Chase, followed by refreshments in the Chase Neighbourhood Centre. Hot vegetable soup was on the menu, along with tea & coffee, while all the local children lined up to visit Santa in his fairy grotto.

At 4pm on Friday 7th December the Salvation Army Brass Band & St Christopher's Church Choir, will gather on Sneinton market for their Christmas Lights switch on, attended by St Ann’s Councillors for another festive treat.
