St Ann’s Ward is high on the agenda as Nottingham’s most deprived neighbourhood, and presently has no remaining Scout, Cubs or Girl Guide groups. A big difference from St Ann’s of old which had a number of such community groups, with popular Scout leader Mr Vernan Hawley leading the way.
According to today’s newspapers Scout & Girl Guide children & teenage groups may be on their way back for St Ann’s if the government has its way.
The government is set to make an announcement very soon.
