A look back to January 2007 and how the Stonebridge Park Estate use to look like, with the opening sequence showing the Eastham Close houses that are still standing today. The film focuses on the long blocks of flats since demolished. The film shows the ground forecourts which were not maintained by Nottingham City Council, with the green algae on the floor and walls. Often these areas were unlit with porch lighting making them a haven for crime.
These flats were in Eastham Close, Dennet Close, Flewitt Gardens & Pym Walk.
The film ends at the rear of Loraine crofts home in Eastham Close, and the rotted wooden fence(s) which Loraine is securing with a piece of string! All of these fences are going to be replaced in July 2012.
The film below shows the flats in Eastham Close, a distant view of Dennet Close flats and a look around the Peverel public house grounds. The pub was demolished in July 2008 to make way for flats & Beacon Hill House which is a block of new apartments. All of the flats shown in this film were demolished in January 2008 to make way for new houses.
